From the walls of an ancient water mill near the Villa Romana del Casale in Piazza Armerina (Enna), the Trattoria La Ruota offers the visitor the most genuine traditional cuisine, enhancing the precious raw materials provided by the territory. Since 1988, the restaurant has been offering actual home cooking and from appetizers entirely composed of local products based on seasonal vegetables, cured meats and cheeses, to home-made fresh pasta, to the now famous "temperate rabbit", roast lamb, roast pork with fresh mushrooms or all 'orange, sausage and local pork chops, seasonal vegetables, artichokes, the prized Enna "Piacentinu", the delicate fresh ricotta and the local pecorino primo sale, an expression of the centuries-old local dairy art, cannoli and almond pastries: a menu simple but sure to please, based on typical local products and in tune with the seasons.
